Because DH complains I make the same things over and over again and it gets “boring”, I decided to try out a line of sauces from Masterfoods.
I followed most of the instructions on the back with a few alterations to the ingredients because I didn’t have the right stuff at home:
- Masterfoods Satay Chicken Stir Fry Sauce
- one Onion, sliced
- 100g spinach
- 500g chicken
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1/2 cup water
I stir-fried the chicken and union until it was mostly cooked, then added the sauce, peanut butter and water. When it was nearly ready, I threw in the spinach so it wouldn’t end up over cooked.
The Verdict
DH thought it smelled “questionable” but agreed it was surprisingly edible – whatever that means. G1 ate with no complaints so I guess that’s a good sign, too. He also doused his rice with the sauce so I guess it must have been quite acceptable. G2 was the only one who didn’t try any (he ate some left-over stir fried beef and broccoli) and very likely the one to have balked since we have yet to get him to eat satay.
I’ll assume that’s two thumbs up and keep this one for future reference.
