I had some fish that my MIL gave us and I didn’t know what to do with it so…
The only way I’ve ever known how to cook fish is to steam it. Since the fish has been in my freezer for a while, it would end up with a fishy smell if I tried to steam it. The only other way to cook it is to deep fry it but I suck at that. Besides, I’ve been trying to discourage the boys from eating fried food so the only other option left was fish curry. I’m not entirely sure how much healthier this option is though.
We love Brahim’s sauces because they are really convenient and they taste pretty good if you tweak them a little with some “extra” ingredients. They are also free from MSG, preservatives and colouring – which is a plus.
This is another really easy fish curry recipe – as far as fish curry recipes go…
- Brahim’s Fish Curry Sauce
- Ladies Fingers
- 1 tomato sliced
- 200ml coconut milk
- 2 fish slices (that’s about all I had but you could probably add more)
After cleaning the fish, put everything into a crock pot and turn it on high. Once it starts simmering, reduce the heat and continue cooking for another couple of hours.
You could also put it on the stove and it’ll be done a lot more quickly. I like to use the crock pot because I can get dinner going while the boys are at school so it isn’t a mad rush when we get home after pick up.
